PlayStation fans were eagerly awaiting Sony’s showcase of their upcoming system along with all of the games that will be available on the device when it launches. Naturally, one of the biggest games on the planet, Fortnite, was among the games that Sony showcased on the PlayStation 5.
Sony has a minority stake in Epic Games after a recent $250 million investment, which means the two are more connected than ever. Along with the launch of the PlayStation 5, we can expect to see some Fortnite cosmetics that will be exclusive to PS5 owners.
The trailer of Fortnite on the PS5 was only 35 seconds, but it showed a lot of changes that we can expect to see on all platforms – not just on the PS5.
Yes, we see the enhanced graphics that come with the new system, but that’s to be expected. Hopefully, Epic give the next-gen console players the option of turning their settings down to improve performance – something that most PC players are already doing.
Along with the graphical improvements, however, what appears to be a new death animation, enhanced fire mechanics, and an awesome new Chug Jug animation – hinting that we haven’t seen the last of this healing item. You can also hear some new sounds, including a rocket shot.
Even more interesting is the sound that plays when the character dies. Could the iconic Fortnite death sound be changing? Only time will tell.
This news is exciting for PS5 players, but everyone should be experiencing the changes that are likely coming to the game when the next generations of consoles launch. We’ll keep you posted if and when we learn more about all of these new animations and anything else that changes.
