Grenades are the oldest throwables in all of Fortnite, but their age doesn’t mean that players aren’t finding new ways to use them. The lack of loot variety in Chapter 2 Season 1 caused most competitive players to maximize the effectiveness of Grenades. As we saw, this led to pros figuring out how to get maximum damage with their “nade-stacking” every time.
At this point, most players know that they can use the pinging system in Fortnite to ensure that their Grenades explode as soon as they hit their target – giving enemies no time to react (especially in team modes). What if a player is below you, though? Well, we saw what Bizzle, Clix, and Commandment did over the weekend.
This strategy looks a lot easier than it is. You’ll know this if you tried turning around and throwing grenades at your wall after seeing this clip. You need to be a certain distance above your enemy and standing in the exact right location. If everything isn’t correct, you’ll end up overshooting or, even worse, undershooting and grenading yourself.
SypherPK released a video on his second channel, More SypherPK, that showed exactly how to complete this strategy. It’s going to take a fair bit of practice, as even he wasn’t able to pull it off on the first try.
This is an extremely useful strategy for competitive Fortnite matches, where players are routinely stacked on top of one another. Grenades continue to prove to be one of the deadliest items in all of Fortnite, and they probably aren’t going anywhere.
